A series of color images and a brief essay in Ukrainian and English languages describing the history and some cultural features of the city of Sokal (סקאָהל) north of Lviv in western Ukraine, with a photo of Sokal's fortress synagogue ruin. Also included is a history of the Sokal region, augmented by a survey of the area's economic resources. A third section gives a history of the nearby ancient city of Belz, which prominently features the rise of the Hasidic dynasty there in the 19th century, its collapse in the Holocaust, and the surviving Jewish cemetery and tombstones (with a photo from the cemetery). The front side of this map, by Kartografiia of Kyiv, includes a detailed street map of Sokal and a useful road map of the former Sokal district.
