A 1939 alphabetical index of place names in pre-war (Second Republic) Poland representing locations of nearly 1000 Jewish communities where Gemilath Chesed Kassas ("acts of loving-kindness" free loan association credit desks) were operating to provide financial aid to Jews using funds from the American Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) or US-based landsmanshaftn or both. The listed locations are keyed to the grid on the corresponding map. The map and index were printed in Poland in the January~March 1939 edition of Folkshilf (People's Aid), the journal of the association.
