A detailed multi-color map of the Zakarpattia Oblast, bordering Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania, from 1993. The map shows national and district borders, topographic contour lines, schematic concentrations of buildings, major roads within and between cities, rail lines, waterways, land use divisions, and a limited number of cultural site types keyed to a legend on the map. Also included is a brief geographic, climatic, and recreational description of the oblast, plus a listing of major hotels and resorts. The terrain of the Carpathian Mountains is dramatically depicted; at the eastern border of the oblast, Ukraine's highest mountain peak Hoverla is shown.
